Massage Therapies include:

Remedial Massage

Remedial massage is the systematic assessment and treatment of the muscles, tendons, ligaments and connective tissues of the body to assist in rehabilitation, pain and injury management.

It’s performed to create favorable conditions for the body to return to normal health after injury and is defined by the premise that the treatment can reasonably reverse certain physical effects a patient may be presenting. If a patient has suffered a moderate injury resulting in structural pain and/or loss of function, then remediation is required to reduce or eliminate pain and restore that function.

Remedial massage is designed to balance muscle/soft tissue length, tension, tone which will in turn promote the return to normal joint/capsular/bone position; increase the flow of blood and lymph, particularly in the injured areas, thus removing blockages, damaged cells, scar tissue and adhesion's resulting from injury.

Deep Tissue & Myofascial Massage

Myofascial Release Therapy is a gentle blend of massage and stretching. It uses hands-on manipulation of the body to promote healing, release of fascial tension and pain relief. The therapy is based on the idea that poor posture, physical injury, emotional stress and illness can throw the body out of alignment and cause its intricate web of fascia to become tight and constricted.

The skillful use of the hands in Myofascial Release Therapy is said to release disruption in this fascial network that links every organ and tissue in the body with every other part.

Pressure on the bones, muscles, joints and nerves is relieved in the process, and balance is restored. The release of tension allows more functional flexibility and mobility if the muscles, fascia and associated structures.

Hot Stone Massage

Hot Stone massage can be completely relaxing to both mind and body. The penetrating heat from the stones begins almost immediately to soothe and calm the nervous system and melt the effects of stress from the body. Muscle tension eases under the smooth pressure of the stones, allowing circulation to increase.

The irritating toxins are flushed away and healing nutrients flow into the muscles aiding in the release of pain.

Hot Stone massage can be especially helpful for people suffering from fibromyalgia, arthritis and those recovering from injuries.

Also a perfect treatment for those just wanting to relax.

Myofascial Cupping

Myofascial Cupping therapy helps to release muscular tension & assist in facial release. The focus is on treating musculoskeletal conditions with a range of advanced cupping techniques.

Myofascial Cupping is a form and combination of myofascial release and trigger point therapy.

It combines various massage and stretching techniques with the application of slightly pressurized cups. This helps to lift and separate the soft tissue, allowing for greater fluid movement and nutrient supply throughout the soft tissues. This nourishes, detoxifies, stimulates and can help assist in an increases range of motion.

Relaxation & Aromatherapy Massage

Essential oils have been used for therapeutic purposes for many thousands of years. Aromatherapy can be defined as the art and the science of utilizing naturally extracted aromatic essences from plants to balance, harmonize and promote well-being and health.

Aromatherapy encompasses human pathology and the treatment of different conditions both emotional and physical with essential oils. As Aromatherapy practice developed it adopted a wholistic approach which encompassed body, mind and spirit and assists to balance the body’s energy systems.

As a wholistic practice, Aromatherapy is both a preventative approach as well as an active method to employ during acute and chronic stages of illness or disease.

Lymphatic Drainage

The Lymphatic system is a complicated network of vessels, ducts and nodes that move fluid between cells and tissues.

When the lymphatic system slows down, is congested or blocked, our body has less defense against viruses, fungi and bacteria.

Waste products accumulate and stagnate which can cause illness, lack of energy or fatigue.

Lymphatic drainage is performed manually by using specific techniques and direction that stimulates the sluggish lymph to flow.

Very successful with 3 consecutive treatments within 7- 10 days.

It should be noted that Lymphatic Drainage is not massage, the pressure used is very light & the technique used isn't comparable to massage. Its more of a light manual pumping action of the lymph & no oils are used to avoid gliding.

Reflexology/Foot Massage

The basic principle of Reflexology is that congestion/tension in any part of the foot mirrors the congestion/tension in a corresponding body part.

These body parts or reflex points can also be found on the hands and other body parts, however, the most commonly treated area is the feet.

Reflexology may have many beneficial and lasting effects

Some treatments aim to restore systems for better function while others are more specific, addressing particular conditions. It is a healing process that can be safely used when it is not convenient to treat other body parts.

Reflexology is a non-intrusive technique. It can be a relaxing therapy that works on many levels, soothing, calming, balancing and boosting the entire body.

Reiki ..

Reiki is an alternate & gentle form of energy healing originating from Japan. The Usui System is a technique used that works with Reiki. The body is always trying to heal itself & Reiki aids in that process through deep relaxation & assisting in the bodies natural healing process.
